In this role, you will work closely with Masters and senior officers, acting as a vital link between ship and shore. You will play a key role in ensuring vessels operate to the highest standards, maintaining full compliance with international regulations and company policies. Responsibilities include conducting internal audits, performing marine visits, and supporting vessels during inspections, in addition with day-to-day operational tasks.

Requirements:

Master’s or Chief Officer’s License.
Minimum of 12 months’ shore-based experience in a similar role (Marine Superintendent, Auditor, or Inspector).
Excellent communication skills in both Greek and English.

HSQE Superintendent

Location: Athens, Greece

Description: Poseidon Recruitment is recruiting on behalf of an established Greek Ship Management company in their search for an experienced HSQE Superintendent to support the safe, efficient, and compliant operation of the fleet. The role provides expert guidance on Health, Safety, Quality, Environmental, and Marine matters, ensuring vessels operate in line with company policies and international maritime regulations.

Responsibilities:

• Performs the required shipboard ISM/ISO/MLC and ISPS Internal Audits in cooperation with the DPA and the CSO respectively.
• Act as the primary point of contact for assigned vessels on all HSEQ matters.
• Ensures that vessels are managed in compliance with Flag requirements, applicable Rules, Regulations, Codes and Guidelines.
• Identify crew training needs during onboard attendances and advise HSQE department to develop relevant training programs.
• Attend dry dockings and seagoing repairs.

Requirements:

• Seagoing experience as Master or Chief Officer.
• 2+ years shore-based in a HSEQ department.
• Must already be based in Greece.

Technical Superintendent

Location: London

Description: Poseidon is recruiting for a Technical Superintendent to join a growing ship‑owning company who are operating a fleet of PCTC and Container vessels. This is a full‑time position based in London.

Responsibilities include:

• Assisting in the delivery and management of several newbuild vessels into the fleet.
• Planning & monitor requirements for Class and Flag State Survey to ensure all certificates remain valid.
• Oversee all aspects of drydockings and manage repair projects.
• Evaluate store/spare requisitions for approvals by the HoD.

Requirements:

• Minimum sailing as a 2nd engineer on PCTC or Container.
• Car Carrier experience is essential to be considered.
• At least one year of experience as a Technical Superintendent.
• Proficiency in technical planning, with an ability to juggle deadlines and priorities.

Training Manager

Location: The Netherlands OR Greece

Description: Poseidon is recruiting for a Training Manager on behalf of a highly reputable international shipping business. The Training Manager will work closely with the Chief Operating Officer to lead all training efforts across the company, both onboard and in offices worldwide. This role involves extensive international travel for several months each year. The preferred base location for the right candidate is The Netherlands, but for the right person, we are open to considering Athens.

Responsibilities include:

• Assess current training procedures and identify future training needs onboard the fleet and within shore operations.
• Outline comprehensive programs for training all ranks onboard.
• Maintain regular communication and collaboration with all heads of department to gather new or updated training materials and implement them efficiently.
• Conduct final interviews of Masters, Chief Officers, and Deck Officers being inducted into the fleet.
• Serve as part of the Promotion Committee.
• Monitor selected crew members onboard, analyze their performance in executing specific jobs or tasks, and provide training and advice on how to improve in line with industry safety practices and standards.

Requirements:

• Experience with tankers is essential.
• Master or Chief Engineer onboard experience is preferred but not essential.
• Candidates with shore-based training experience or from a training center who have not sailed will also be considered.
• A minimum of 3 years' experience working ashore in a training position.
• Must demonstrate a high level of commitment to meet the demands of the workload and travel schedule.
• Must be eligible to live and work in the EU. Sponsorship visa is not available.

Technical Superintendent

Location: The Netherlands

Description: Poseidon are partnering with a well-established ship management company to assist with their search for a Technical Superintendent who will be responsible for ensuring the efficient & safe technical operations and ship management of assigned tankers. This position will be full time based in the Netherlands.

Responsibilities include:

• Overseeing day-to-day technical operations of assigned tankers.
• Regular inspection of the hull, machinery, electrical equipment as registered in the PMS system and marked by the class/flag state requirements.
• Plan and monitor surveys in order to keep an updated class and flag state review.
• Solve all operation problems while onboard of the vessel.
• Budgeting, dry-docking, and maintenance planning.
• Shall be responsible for ensuring safe and correct working conditions onboard and in the office.

Requirements
• You have sailed as a Chief Engineer on tankers.

Crew Officer

Location: The Netherlands

Description: We are recruiting for a Crew Officer on behalf of a Ship Management company based in The Netherlands. Our client is a well-established international business.

Responsibilities

- In charge of crew changes all over the world. Ensure they are done accordingly as per company policies and in the most economical and efficient way.
- Manage all crew aspects onboard of the vessels.
- Make travel arrangements for sea employees and superintendents.
- Manage the yearly training program for the crew. Coordinate additional training if needed.
- Visit vessels during their port stays and meet the crew on board.
- Implement and improve the safety culture throughout the fleet in order to achieve the company HSSE objectives of zero accidents/incidents.
- Create senior briefings according to a planned schedule.

Requirements

- Minimum 3 years' experience in a crewing role at a Ship Management or Ship Owning Company
- Tanker experience required
- Good administration and computer skills
- Ability to work under pressure
